Curriculum

At the Eaton Early Learning Center we will be using:

  • Creative Curriculum and Theme-based Activities.
  • The Creative Curriculum uses a sequence of steps children take as they learn particular skills and concepts in all areas of development. It is a tool for planning instruction and assessing learning.
  • Theme-based activities relate activities and materials to a particular theme.
  • Daily Activities:
    • Circle time: to enhance early literacy, language and concepts.
    • Songs and Finger plays.
    • Work time: participation in centers such as blocks, house area, computer, art, manipulatives, puzzles, books, language, numbers and sensory activities.
    • Small and Large muscle activities.
    • Clean up.
    • Reflection.
  • Our preschool program also focus on social-emotional development and enables children to develop initiative, understand there are consequences to their actions, persist in achieving their goals, and interact positively with their peers.
  • Pre-Academic Development is for Success in School.  By the time a child is 5, 90% of his brain is developed.
